Marshmallow Production 

Tanis Food Tec specializes in marshmallow production, along with several other confectionery and bakery products. All of which can be prepared in the TFT kitchen. After the marshmallow has been prepared in the TFT kitchen it then requires an extrusion or depositing step to make the final product. Marshmallow is usually extruded through a (rotating) manifold.

Marshmallow Make-Up Line

Tanis Food Tec are specialists in mallow make-up equipment. On this line all marshmallow varieties can be made. Several extrusion manifolds are installed on the line to be able to make a wide variety of shapes, sizes, colours and flavours.

Mallow Make-Up Line

In the kitchen area of the marshmallow system, the product is made and pumped towards the TFT-named Mallow Make-Up Line. On this line all marshmallow varieties can be made. The process starts by depositing a thick anti-sticking layer of starch or dextrose on the conveyor belt. The marshmallow is extruded on top of a thick layer of starch. At the end of the make up line a top layer of starch is applied to fully cover the ropes of marshmallow, after which the productis cut using a guillotine. The frequency of cutting determines the length of the final product. After cutting, the product falls into a vibratory sieve where the product and starch are separated. The starch is automatically returned to the starch depositing sprinklers.

Big American Fluff

For years the Big American marshmallow has been, by far, the most popular and iconic marshmallow of all. With its 30 mm diameter it is the perfect product to put onto a skewer and roast above a campfire.

Big American Style Marshmallow

Every TFT marshmallow production line is able to produce the Big American style of marshmallow. After making the basic marshmallow, the main marshmallow stream is split into two or four streams. On every stream individual color and flavor is injected. Then, the marshmallow is pumped to the static extrusion nozzles positioned on the make-up line.

Mini Marshmallows

The mini marshmallow is gaining popularity fast and is seen in more and more variations and forms. Rather then a 30 mm diameter, the mini marshmallow is generally 10 mm in diameter.

After making the basic marshmallow the main marshmallow stream is split into two or four streams and on every stream we inject individual color and flavor after which the marshmallow is pumped to the static extrusion nozzles positioned on the make-up line.

Twisted Cable Marshmallows

The Twisted Cable marshmallow is a children’s favorite but also loved by all ages. They can be produced in any desired size, color and/or taste. To make your brand’s signature Twisted Cable, a base (white) marshmallow is prepared in the TFT Marshmallow kitchen. The marshmallow is split into four streams, where color and flavor is then injected into each stream. Those four cultured streams are pumped to the rotating extrusion manifold. The manifold twists the ropes while extruding them on a starch bed on the conveyor belt. 

Twisted Cables Marshmallow

The twisted cable marshmallow is formed from of four ropes, each with an individual color and/or flavor. TFT has designed a manifold wherein the four colors are directed towards the turning outlet of the extrusion nozzle. The manifold is designed with the focus on an even pressure distribution throughout the 30 nozzles across the manifold. The manifold has two rotating drives on board that can vary in RPM to change the final shape of the candy. Additional 3D printed nozzle sets can be designed to make limitless varieties in shapes and colors.

Center Filled Marshmallows

An exciting variation to the regular marshmallow is the addition of a jelly filling. A tasty surprise at the heart of the marshmallow. These can be made in any desired size, colour and/or taste. A regular manifold has four extrusion channels, but for Jelly filled marshmallow an extra channel extrudes the jelly in the centre of the marshmallow streams. Jelly is cooked in an additional TFT Cooking system, then run through a CFA Injection station. Colors, flavors and acid are mixed into the base jelly according to your unique recipe.

Fun Shaped Marhsmallows

These fun shaped marshmallows are a big hit at celebrations: hearts, flowers, ducks, characters, figures, etc. After making a base marshmallow in the TFT Marshmallow kitchen we can produce almost every required shape, size, colour and taste. Giving you much freedom to create your own, unique brand specials. With the addition of a depositor with its own specific software incorporated into the line, it is possible to produce nearly any imaginable 3D shape.
